Buckinghamshire Military Museum Trust: Great War Virtual Trail Roadshow

Bucks County Museum, Aylesbury: Saturday 21 February 2015: 10.00-16.00

As part of the ‘Bucks at War: World War One’ event at the Bucks County Museum, the Trust will be showcasing its HLF-supported Bucks Great War Virtual Trail.

War-related photographs taken in the county between 1914 and 1919 are contrasted with the current view of the same location, giving a sense of the immediacy of the past within the present whether it’s the Royal Bucks Hussars in the Market Square at Buckingham, the Bucks Battalion leaving Aylesbury, the 21st Division encamped at Halton, Belgian refugee lace-makers at Olney, munitions workers at High Wycombe, King George V at Great Missenden, or the unveiling of the war memorial at Stewkley.

Why not bring along your own treasured wartime photographs for identification by our experts? You can learn about your family’s part in the Great War, and help preserve the county’s heritage.
